Grooming and beauty in semi-urban Bangladesh have long been split across small, single-gender parlours with uneven hygiene and no way to plan a visit. The Scissors Lounge was built to change that — a large, branded, family-friendly space where men and women can get everything from a quick trim to a full bridal makeover in one calm, modern environment.
Across 5,000+ sq ft in Mawna Chowrasta, guests find dedicated sections for hair, skin, spa and makeovers, private treatment rooms, and a children's corner. Behind the experience sits a digital layer: a mobile app for online booking and appointment scheduling, a membership programme, and running promotions — so the lounge feels as effortless to plan as it is to enjoy.

A fast-growing category
Grooming and personal care are a rising discretionary spend in semi-urban Bangladesh. The Gazipur industrial belt combines dense population with growing household incomes — a widening base of customers ready to pay for a better salon experience.
A fragmented, informal market
Most local salons are small, informal and single-gender, with inconsistent hygiene and no branded experience. Very few offer a premium, unisex, family-friendly space that both men and women trust to visit together.
The pain: walk-in waits
Booking is the everyday friction — customers queue on arrival with no way to reserve a slot. A mobile app with online scheduling removes the wait and sets the lounge apart from every walk-in-only competitor nearby.
The gap we filled
A large, branded, membership-driven unisex lounge with app-based booking is rare outside central Dhaka. Building it in Sreepur gave the region a destination it had never had — and a clear runway with little direct competition.
